I draw inspiration from organically occurring colors and textures found in nature and the interaction of nature and man. When manmade materials react to nature the results can be beautiful – a rusted sheet of metal, a weathered door or window, peeling paint on a building, moss covered sea walls, a stained and deteriorated concrete wall.

As I travel the world with my family I gravitate to, and take photos of, things usually overlooked – old doors, rusty oil drums, moss-covered rocks – and use my art to create similar images.

The unique nature of the encaustic medium allows me to create and share my interpretation of these elements as rich, textured, three-dimensional pieces of art.
